Sunday 6th July
MELANIE HORSNELL + Cuthbert & The Nightwalkers (solo) + Sherlocks Daughter

Inflatable Girlfriend Records / MGM and Select music are tickled pink to announce that Australia's own queen of quirk, Melanie Horsnell is bringing her delightful and insightful songs to The Heritage.

The performances will also include new songs from Melanie's upcoming second album release Complicated Sweetheart (produced by Paul McKercher), as well as favourites from her heart-warming debut record "the adventures of".

Melanie comes fresh from a recent bout of touring to the U.S. and Europe. Her debut album is adored in Europe, a staple on French radio after being released via roots label Rounder Records. In the U.S. meanwhile, Melanie was recently invited to perform at the 2007 CMJ Music Marathon in New York.

Closer to home, Melanie has been invited to share stages with some of the finest songwriters on the road, including Irish supergroup The Frames, Powderfinger's Bernard Fanning and Josh Pyke.

Joining Melanie on stage for the Mary Mary tour will be session bassist Tim McCartney, the very soulful George Rigatos on electric guitar and Iain Sheddon (The Saints) on drums.

Friday 18th July
GIN CLUB + Handsome Young Strangers
Show Only $12
Dinner & Show $47

The Gin Club perform an eclectic mix of rock, pop, folk, blues, country, psych, prog, slowcore, and everything in between. On stage the band can feature anywhere from two to nine members playing various combinations of acoustic and electric guitars, organ, piano, cello, banjo, mandolin, saxophone and drums, all shuffling positions and swapping instruments from song to song, making for a unique and sometimes chaotic experience.

Since their formation in 2003 they have toured Australia, performing at Big Day Out, East Coast Blues & Roots, Cockatoo Island and Yagubi Festivals; as well as Canada and New Zealand; played with acts as diverse as Paul Kelly, The Drones, Tim Rogers, Iron & Wine, Lambchop, Midlake and Laura Veirs, and released three albums to critical acclaim, the most recent being double album Junk. Featuring the work of seven highly individual singer/songwriters, as well as a collaboration with Australian music legend Tim Rogers - Junk is one of the most ambitious and diverse releases by an Australian band in man years. From mariachi horns to sweeping string arrangements to grinding guitars to hushed piano and cello ballads, Junk is truly a magnificent achievement which should propel the band on to the world stage.
